Tower of Babel; Abram and Sarai’s Journey
Genesis 11:1-26; 1 Chronicles 1:24-27; Genesis 11:27-31; Genesis 12-14:24 (The Message)
Tonight we span over thousands of years and many miles. We start with Babel. A few months back the kids and I watched a documentary which set out to disprove that the people at that time had the knowledge and the tools to make a tower which stretched to the heavens. What they came back with however was that they did indeed have the knowledge and tools for baking blocks of mud that would stretch to the heavens. It was a great documentary that put this into perspective.

Noah and the Flood
Genesis 7-10:5; 1 Chronicles 1:5-7; Genesis 10:6-20; 1 Chronicles 1:8-16; Genesis 10:21-30; 1 Chronicles 1:17-23; Genesis 10:31-32 (The Message)
Today’s passage starts out with the flood of Noah and ends in a history of how Noah and his son’s reproduced on the earth.
First the flood. This flood wiped out all of creation. The waters under the earth began to rise at the same time the rains came pouring down. Noah, his family, and all the animals were safe inside the ark. The water was higher than 20 feet above the highest mountain.

Genesis 4-5:32; 1 Chronicles 1:1-4; Genesis 6:1-22 (The Message)
[Please note, today I had to do two commentaries. The way the One Year Bible Weekly is set up, I had to do Jan 1 and Jan 2 the same day. From here on out it should be only one a day.]Today’s passage begins with Cain murdering
Able. Both men presented an offering to God but liked Able’s offering more. Cain grew jealous and took his anger out on his brother and eventually murdered him.

- Light and Dark
- Sky and Water
- Land and Earth, Trees, Plants
- Sun, Moon, Stars
- Fish and Birds
